Actually, Travis, with life expectancy in my family being what it is, at forty I am well into the middle of my life. Although middle-aged has the stigma of being a boring time, I’m having a lovely time of it.
I thought I’d be kind and suggest that you’re nearing it, and not there yet. As they say “it’s better to be safe than to be sorry”. However, to get into specifics, your family’s life expectancy could indeed be of little relevance to how long you will live. That brings up the nature versus nurture debate though. You seem to be enjoying it, but that’s only because of all of your lovely students.
