Mercedes Benz Song
22 06 2008Last week in class I commented on the Mercedez Benz song which Ella sings in Macbeth: Shakespeare Retold. This song of desire for wealth is effectively contrasted with images of Ella scrubbing away at her hands.
It is not as old as I imagined and was first heard in 1970.
It was performed by Janis Joplin and written by her and two others. You can find the full lyrics here.
